Music Monday

Welcome to another edition of Music Monday! There are two songs I'm spotlighting this week:

"The Face" by Kings of Leon

I love everything about this song, especially the beat. And lead singer Caleb Followill has one of those distinctive voices that meshes with the beat and makes the song one big powerful hit of awesomeness.

"Parting Words" (from the LOST soundtrack) by Michael Giacchino

This was another piece I discovered through the Young Artists Showcase. I was looking for other videos of Garrett Kling's choreography and found this. I was a faithful fan of the show LOST and loved some of the score but had never looked up the soundtrack. It's a beautiful piece of music and another one I'd love to see used in a competitive skating program.

Tell me what songs you're obsessed with this week!

  1. Great songs - I'm not actually obsessed with any songs right now, but I wanted to tell you I left something for you on my blog!

  2. I love that Kings of Leon song! For some reason I've never listened to any of their music other than the single that was on the radio all the time last year, but I really like their sound.

I'm not sure whether obsessed is the right word, but that "Call Me Maybe" song finally grew on me, and now I turn it up every time it comes on the radio and sing along.

    1. Two other Kings of Leon songs I love are "Birthday" and "Radioactive." After hearing them on the radio, I got their latest CD from the library and really liked it. "Sex on Fire" from the first CD is great, too.

LOL, "Call Me Maybe" is kind of growing on me, too!

    2. That "Sex on Fire" song always cracks me up! Every time I hear him singing about his sex being on fire, I imagine he has some sort of std that's got him burning like fire "down there!" LOL Yes, I am warped....!

    3. LOL April. I recently learned what the song is really about. Let's just say it wouldn't fit into my publisher's guidelines ;-)
