New Adult Sleepover Weekend

Come hang out with me in beautiful Savannah, GA!

The New Adult Sleepover Weekend is only five months away! If you don't know what that is, let me tell you! December 6-8 in Savannah, GA will be an awesome convention for New Adult authors and readers. There are so many great authors signed up, and the weekend is designed to engage readers and let them spend some time with their favorite authors. There are a ton of events within the weekend!

Friday Night:
    Ice Cream social and a special release party for the authors with new releases. I'll be signing copies of FIGHTING FOR THE EDGE!

Saturday:
    There will be lots of panels with discussions from your favorite authors, like a panel about writing from the male POV and love triangles! There are way more panels to enjoy, and we'll cover all your favorite aspects of the New Adult genre. There will also be a book signing with all the attending authors. I'll have copies of the EDGE series available to sign!
    On Saturday night, get ready to party your socks off! We will have several parties set up for readers and authors to enjoy, including a 90's Karaoke Party and a Jeopardy room! Also, Stella, our event coordinator, has some amazing vendors lined up! (like a tattoo artist and a woman who makes custom organic elixirs, scrubs, masks, & wraps)

Sunday Morning:
    Gift basket raffle and Goodbye!

    There will also be swag packs and prizes to giveaway throughout the weekend. One of the prizes will be breakfast with me on Saturday morning!!

FIGHTING FOR THE EDGE Teaser

I'm taking a break from Music Monday this week to post a new teaser from FIGHTING FOR THE EDGE (Edge #3). I posted it on my Facebook page but wanted to include it here in case you missed it! It's a quick excerpt with Aubrey and Chris:

With the misfit tree in the back of Chris’s truck, they stopped at the first drugstore they saw and descended upon the aisle of holiday decorations. Aubrey folded her arms and tapped her foot as Chris deliberated between a set of Looney Tunes ornaments and one with Star Wars characters.

All the shimmering tinsel and trinkets on the shelves were obnoxiously bright, just like the decorations outside her parents’ house would be. Shiny and pretty to mask the unhappiness inside. Her neck grew tense just thinking about spending the holiday there.

“We should get both of these.” Chris showed her the two boxes of ornaments. “What’s better than Princess Leia hanging out with Yosemite Sam?”

He was such a goofball.

That’s right. Focus on the goofiness and forget the hotness.

I submitted the completed manuscript to my publisher over the weekend, so now I'm just waiting on a firm release date. I'll be sure to let you know when I receive it!

Hello again, Monday. We meet too soon. If you need a little pick-me up to start the week, I have a couple of catchy songs this week from the band The Temper Trap. I used to know only one song by them, "Sweet Disposition," (and loved it) but I recently got hooked on a few more of their songs when I heard them on my Keane Pandora station. Music Monday

Hello again! I took a Music Monday holiday last week for Memorial Day, but I'm back this week :) I'm continuing my music and dance theme from my last post with a couple more songs I discovered via So You Think You Can Dance and a dance video I found on YouTube.

The first song is "Beautiful" by Meshell Ndegeocello. It was used in a SYTYCD performance by Chelsie Hightower (now known on Dancing With the Stars) and Mark Kanemura. They are one of my favorite couples in SYTYCD history, and I think this was one of their first performances together.

The next song is "Bloodstream" by Stateless. I'd never heard of the song or the artist until I found this video of a contemporary dance performance by Kathryn McCormick and Cody Green. Kathryn is my favorite female dancer from all the seasons of SYTYCD, and I first saw Cody Green as the lead in the touring production of Broadway's "Movin' Out." This performance is smoking hot! And I totally fell in love with the song.
